As a result of these analyses, we recommended that the City of Valley Mills be separated into two pressure planes. A new pressure tank would serve the upper pressure plane while the lower pressure plane would be served by the existing facilities. The proposed improvements would be broken up into two main projects. The first project would be to install the pressure tank, pumps, and associated linework required to develop the two pressure planes. The second project would be to improve select lines throughout the city to eliminate many small lines and to improve the overall pressures throughout the system. These improvements will reduce maintenance and be TNRCC compliant.

The Wallace Group has worked with the TNRCC to delay immediate work on Valley Mill's system while the city attempts to obtain a grant for the upcoming year. Valley Mills has agreed to begin monitoring the system for low pressures on a regular basis and to adopt a contingency plan if pressures fall below the required regulations.

As a result of the proposed improvements, the pressures throughout the city will be increased substantially and the system will meet TNRCC criteria. Many smaller lines are eliminated and an additional pressure source will be added to the city to supply the remainder of the residents with good water pressures.
