Replacing a vacant lot, Heritage Square celebrates Waco’s past, present, and future as city planners, businesses and other community groups united to make this plaza a reality. In addition to serving as a focal point for civic events, concerts and other gatherings, the space includes historic references to Waco’s past as it reflects the downtown architecture, complementing the rich colors and textures of the surrounding streetscape.
This $1.7 million beautification project includes two children’s fountains with motion detectors that set off the water, two ornate fountains, trellised walkways, and a children’s sculpture.
