Work Order 10188 The Wallace Group redesigned 3 blocks of city streets and incorporated drainage improvements to reduce the effects of flooding in downtown Temple. The existing drainage system was constructed in the early 1920’s and the urbanization of downtown Temple created a situation where storm runoff caused significant localized flooding. The proposed improvements isolated the existing drainage system into 2 systems, as well as provided additional underground drainage capacity. The street was redesigned to improve conveyance of storm runoff and provide easier access to the Santa Fe Depot. During bidding, alternate materials were bid to assist the City of Temple in awarding the project. |
