A New Tank Water Quality Management System
With warm weather comes higher water temperature, and rapid loss of disinfection residuals. This is even a greater problem with a system that utilizes surface water and chloramine disinfection.
Standard procedures have involved line or tank flushing and draining, and operating valves to cycle tanks daily. These are time and staff consuming tasks. Equipment is now available to mix and dose chlorine and ammonia into the tanks that are difficult to cycle. This equipment can operate remotely and automatically. We are ready to help you optimize your tank water quality.
Tank Jet Mixer
Part of the solution is the Tank Jet Mixer. This operation provides a simple method of uniformly mixing, circulating and suspending tank volumes without “dead-spots”. The mixer is an efficient means of energy conservation. The volume output is four to five times the motive fluid input.
Modeling a Tank Jet Mixer for Bluebonnet WSC
These two fluid dynamic computer models demonstrate the effectiveness of a Tank Jet Mixer in a 60 foot tall, 2 MG Ground Storage Tank. The proposed Moody Tank is a part of the Bluebonnet WSC water system in Temple, Texas. The blue represents water with a dose of chloramines in it. After 17 hours of operation, the tank, with no other flows, is totally mixed.
