Renovations Bring New Life To City Department
Hired to design an exterior face-lift and interior office renovation to an existing parking garage and office structure, The Wallace Group provided an architectural design that perked up a major street corner in Downtown Waco.
The existing facility included two stories below a parking deck. The exterior modifications entailed reconfiguring the main entrance to the corner of the building, and skinning the exterior with an aluminum composite panel. The interior renovation of 32,000 square feet houses several City of Waco departments, including building inspections, planning, traffic, engineering, and a neighborhood police division. The police section includes three divisions of detectives with district supervisors, the K-9 division, and the SWAT team. The $3 million project was successfully completed in the Spring of 2006.
