Surveys continue at the Dallas Naval Air Station

The survey department in the Dallas office was awarded a project with CH2M HILL for the Dallas Naval Air Station. The overall manager for the CH2M HILL project was also the manager for the McGregor Naval Air Station Project. He was so pleased with the survey work provided by the survey staff in Round Rock, that when the opportunity came up in Dallas, he immediately called on the Dallas office.

Multiple GPS and total station surveys were required on the U.S. Navy Remedial Action Project, located at the Naval Air Station in McGregor, Texas. Surveys to delineate soil sample locations, contaminated soil excavation dimensions and volumes, adjacent utilities, and their locations relative to existing facility landmarks were completed.

The projects require our survey managers to become 40-hour HAZWOPER 29CRF 1910.120 Certified. This certification is manadated for individuals working at sites covered by the Resource Conservation and Resrouces Act and at uncontrolled hazardous waste sites. Hands-on training involved dressing out in protective clothing and respirators, overpacking, plugging and patching drums, and setting up a decontamination station.
